Wait-list OA revenue business on a through fare
I booked a SFO-NBO one way fare with a rule of PND70SNC with a UA flight between SFO-FRA in P and FRA-NBO on LH native code in Y since the divorced inventory for FRA-NBO only has Z so it delegated to Y.
If I use multi-city, the divorced segments individually also have Z availability and United.com is willing to get to the confirmation screen with a through Z fare. This however errors out at the final purchase screen I'm guessing because it reavalidates with married segment availability which only has D inventory.
I called in to reservations to see if I could wait list for P inventory on the FRA-NBO segment as I thought you could wait list any segment in a PNR. Agent said it's possible for United flights and they've done it before in similar situations but not for other airline flights. I wonder if you can wait list the UA codeshare in P instead? Anyone else have any experience with this?
