Whilst obviously not any excuse, two of the runways at SFO were closed recently for ~8 weeks for constructions, including when this occurred. (Technically only one was closed for construction, the other was closed because it was close to the construction).

That means all takeoffs and landing were using 28L/R, where normally these runways would only be used for landings and a much smaller number of takeoffs - generally just widebodies as these are the longer runways.
