I enjoyed this hotel quite a bit, but there were a few quirks:

Pros
  • Good use of Suite Night Upgrades. I used them to upgrade to a Studio Junior Suite with a Courtyard view, but the room I received had an absolutely killer view of Paris. I think it was the Studio Panorama View Corner Junior Suite. I’m not a huge view guy, but was blown away waking up to the amazing view of Paris each morning.
  • The furnishings in the room were extremely high quality. So many hotel buildouts are cheap, but they obviously spent a ton of money on the rooms and furnishings.
  • The Diamond welcome amenity was really nice. Some kind of delicious cake (which became a meal, more on that later), a chocolate bar and two beautiful lip balms.
  • A lot of free water in the rooms and excellent housekeeping.
  • The gym was incredible. It’s managed by a third-party company so it has limited hours compared to a dedicated hotel gym, but it’s a real gym that has a ton of equipment. After staying in a lot of properties in Europe that had “exercise rooms”, it was a welcome change.
  • I was granted 3pm late checkout without any issue or pushback as a Diamond.
  • The hotel had a really nice vibe and I liked the location. Everyone I interacted with (outside of the bar and restaurant team) was really friendly. The uniforms were adorable.
Cons

Simply put, experiences at the rooftop bar and restaurant were a disaster.
  • The first night I went up to the bar to have a drink and dinner. The ALL welcome drink can only be used for the cheapest wine or beer, so I ended up saving it for another day and ordering a cocktail and food. Ordered another cocktail... Ordered another cocktail... An hour later I asked where my food was. The server said “the kitchen is closed”. She misunderstood my asking for food recommendations as just that, and didn’t figure that I wanted to actually order any food. It was her first night working there and there was a bit of a language gap, but the service recovery was non-existent and I ended up eating the cake in the room for dinner. Weirdly in the lobby bar they let me select Champagne for my welcome drink.
  • We went to the rooftop restaurant to have drinks around 14:00. When we said we were just there for drinks the hostess let us know that we’d have to eat or at least have dessert in order to be seated. We agreed that we would order a dessert each and were seated outside. Absolutely amazing view. We ordered a round of drinks and our waiter was really fantastic. A few minutes later he came back to take our food orders. We ordered desert and then he said we had to order a full lunch. We told him the hostess told us that dessert was fine. A manager came and we repeated that the hostess told us we could order dessert. He confirmed that we were staying in the hotel and then let us stay. Our waiter apologized and said he gets in trouble if people don’t order a full lunch. A little while later the manager came back to our table to tell us the cheesecake we ordered was poor quality and they couldn’t serve it and we needed to select something else. When we asked for a recommendation he just got us the menu and said pick something. Both the drinks and the desserts were excellent.
This property is definitely on my go-to list of Paris hotels, but it’s not a total slam dunk. I’d also consider other options, but with a Suite Night Upgrade it’s excellent value.
