That's generally because so few fare buckets earn Avios on Aer Lingus.

I imagine your fare bucket letter class was one of the ones that earns nothing in the Executive Club.

Hopefully this will change once Aer Lingus finish their integration into the Atlantic Joint Business, which I am guessing is looking to be around 1 October this year. At that time there is a change to earning classes in AerClub according to their website (for no apparent reason), so maybe that will also be the date things change for BA earning too. Here's hoping!
