Interline with SQ and Transiting Through SIN

I am traveling JFK/HKG/SIN on CX and connecting to SQ to DPS on a separate PNR’s. Both PNR’s are for award tickets (AA for the CX and SQ on its own if it makes a difference).

I have about an 8 hour layover in SIN so I was planning on getting a room at one of the transit hotels. However, I have a few questions that I am hoping those with experience with CX and SIN can help answer:

1. Will I be able to check my bags through to DPS at JFK and get a boarding pass for my SQ flight? I looked online and saw conflicting information as to whether CX interlines with SQ (the wiki says yes, the pdf I downloaded from the CX website does not list SQ.) Anyone with recent experience with this?

2. Assuming I can check the bags through, will CX issue a boarding pass for the SQ flight?

3. If the bags cannot be checked through, will I be able to re-check my bags after clearing immigration and customs in SIN with SQ or will I have to hold them until closer to flight time?

4. Any recommendations as to which transit hotel and/or connecting though SIN?

I appreciate the help.
