Indeed, flying to Europe via HAN or SGN on VN is one of the better J experiences on SkyTeam, there's just no easy way to get to SGN or HAN other than NRT/KIX/NGO/FUK/ICN connection, and to get to all of those airports but ICN there's no real SkyTeam options. A double connection is required.

CI has at least somewhat more flights (though still greatly scaled down and flights keep being removed from schedule constantly), so a closer alliance with CI schedules and flights/connections wise would be great. Not to put all eggs in the ICN/KE basket, now that PVG/MU is functionally no more. But no such luck.. a shame, as TPE is one of the better connecting airports, and CI is one of the better ST in flight products.
