I was surprised how little it seems to matter when a human is involved. The DVLA made a mistake on my driving licence, when I notified them and asked for it to be fixed and reissued they told me not to bother until renewing it in 10 years time. It's never been a problem using it as ID, humans don't tend to notice the error. It's only now causing me problems with banks that are using the automated ID photo upload scanning checks instead of humans reviewing the documents, I get an error that ID documents don't match.
