I'm sorry you got the runaround from a couple of folks here. I thought the same thing as you did: with 500+ posts, why would someone be hassling you? Especially considering that 1K was pretty easy to make this year for a lot of folks, it's hardly an amazing accomplishment that required certain FTers to doubt your integrity and intentions. An aside: the new voice recognition system, at least for the 1P line, asks for your Mileage Plus number. The agent answers using your name in the greeting. In other words, they know who you are, and what your MP status is. So even if you called the 1K line as a 1P or lower, if UA's software is working as it theoretically should (...), then you would get routed to the appropriate desk anyway. American's reservations has worked this way for at least a couple of years.
