I sort of agree and disagree - I found the view to be very pleasant (and I guess I really valued the direct grounds access) with both landscaping and ocean present, but yes you will not see the sand
First picture is room 1038, second is room 1026, and third is the layout of rooms on the ground floor of Poipu wing, all the non-standard shaped rooms are the suites. I definitely liked 1038 as it had views out both sides, but 1026 (and presumably others) was nice in that you don't have to go through the master bedroom to get to the bathroom (open via both ends) vs. 1038
