Not sure what ‘bottom feeding spending behaviour’ refer to, but it sounds perjorative!. Perhaps limit such a lounge to Elites in any class flying longhaul might help with numbers management which seems the principal concern.
I do think a holistic view of ‘value’ of a customer to an airline may be more useful than a single instance of paying ‘most for the mile’ - but we all have our own views on ‘value’. I could argue that some domestic Y sectors are more expensive than longhaul J on this calculation basis …
But I suspect nothing will happen regarding NZ International lounges, and so up to each of us to make choices on who we fly with.
