Ive searched all posts and not found what I am looking for. So I think it is important that I share this for ALL JAL TRAVELLERS.
I just want shared my experienced booking a ONE WORLD AWARD ticket on JAL and I ended up have to cancel the entire booking, not able to use the award ticket.
I was physically at OSAKA japan during a transfer. I showed my son's reward ticket that was booked for June 2023 a future travel date (and just has FIRST AND LAST name) and asked the JAL manager at the gate to call verify if what Alaska agent told me "I only need first and last name" on the ticket and that is ONE WORLD POLICY.

Note that is totally wrong. And not many have the opportunity to do the check physically in the Japan airport. Please share this with your friends who travel on JAL.
The JAL manager called asked couple higher authority, came back and said the name must match exactly as on the passport.
I ended up have to cancel Alaska award ticket, and later found an July flight on other carrier website. But has to pay cash to buy the transfer to my final destination -Japan to Taiwan.
