Question BA vs AA - Service, SPML & Scotch whiskeys

Recently flew R/T LAX-LHR-ATH on BA with the family and flew BA on the way to our vacation destination and AA codeshare on the way back home.

BA service was minimal and attendants didn't seem to be happy.
BA provided a pre-ordered SPML non lactose meal over the past 6 years - but this time the meal was awful - some vegan Asian noodles without any flavor/sauce and with tofu only.
BA flights (both legs) had no scotch, whiskeys, nor bourbon - only gin and vodka.

AA service was amazing - above and beyond.
AA provided a SPML which they pulled data from BA and it was very good - chicken pasta & veggies without cheese.
AA flights (both legs) had plenty of scotch, whiskeys, but no bourbon. Chose 12yr Glenlivet single malt Scotch for the journey home and very happy.

I think BA has slipped and AA has become the premier transatlantic carrier in my book.

After 15 years with BA for international, I think I may have to jump ship to AA...

As a comparison, my domestic preference is DL.

Your thoughts ?
