I had experience to do it, but after first segment flight: I arrived from CUN to IST, received baggage (through baggage service center), evening the same day checked-in it for second flight.
My Q: Is AMS-MEX on TK so much cheaper than IST-MEX that it warrants positioning from IST to AMS first (and spending day on this)?
Yes, 2+ times cheaper in business class, than IST-MEX.
