Hoping to get some more current info. on Shangri-La Singapore. We're coming in from Thailand in early August about 24 hours before we head back to SFO, and will have the entire day in Singapore. We've been to the city a few times - this time, just looking to relax/have a low-key day before the long flight back that leaves in the evening. Have kids (5 & 8), and hoping to use our Amex FHR benefit. Seems like a great place for kids as well. We generally like Shangri-La from previous brand stays in Asia.
Can anyone comment on the themed family room and what that's like. Website doesn't specify what kind of bedding is in the room, and if there might be a sofa bed, or if they can bring in a rollaway bed. Like the idea of the themed room and the area that I can see in photos by the window, but open to other rooms in the hotel that might be better for us.
While I understand good for the kids, also understand it's a bit of a trek to the MRT if we want to explore somewhere else in the city. So am wondering if there are options that might work better for transit - was also looking at FS or St. Regis in the area which definitely seem like it would fit from that perspective - or in another area. Would love to hear any thoughts from Singapore experts.
