I’m currently seated in 39D as my preference is to be able to get up as I please, but also for my seat mates to get up without disturbing me.
I have not sat in a sky couch row before, so am wondering if I would be able to use the leg rest in seat 38C? Or are they locked when sky couch isn’t purchased? Think I read this was the case somewhere but can’t remember where.
I’m thinking if I can use the leg rest, this will be a better option to get a bit of rest (even if it means moving for my neighbours sometimes). I have a pending RU to PE but given it’s a V1 787 I’m going on the basis that my chances of this clearing are slim to none (and if it does I will buy a lotto ticket!)
Thanks in advance

Whilst it is possible to use all of Skycouch's features (sans actual seatbelt and mattress), as others have pointed out it is fairly useless unless you have the whole row to yourself or at least an empty middle seat between you and the window Pax.
The leg rest from memory is either fully down or fully up. When it is fully up you'd be sitting in an upright fetal position.
That being said, I have had many flights where I had the entire row 37ABC or 38ABC to myself due to HVC seating on HVC-lite and load-lite routes. Then it is a game-changer. Unfortunately SIN isn't one of such routes...
