Not sure -- I've had bags retagged at the PL at IAD without a problem. (In fact, on reflection, it looks like you did too).

Cost of replacement goods, up to the limit specified in the Montreal Convention (1288 Special Drawing Rights, or about $1719 at current exchange rates). You may have a bit of a discussion on your hands regarding the total amount of goods needed, but I doubt SAS can airlift the bag to you on your cruise. (You might be able to pick it up at Svalbard).

Note that your claim is against SAS, not UA. given that SAS claims that the bag was transferred to them, which indicates that it was retagged.

No bug -- you had an overnight at LHR, so that was treated as a break in the journey. The UA Club staff could have rerouted you.
