Semma is an authentic south Indian restaurant. It is the only Indian restaurant in the US to have earned a Michelin

. The chef, Vijay Kumar, was formerly at Michelin-starred Rasa in Burlingame, Calif. The restaurant is fairly small. Reservations are hard to get, they are released at midnight NY time a month in advance and are gone in seconds. The food is excellent and is quite different than the north Indian/Punjabi food that is commonly served in Indian restaurants in the US. The service, while friendly and efficient, is nothing special.
