Unfortunately that's exactly how it works with low cost carriers...

What would have happened if the flight was delayed by an hour? Would your cultural issues also mean that you would refuse to board the airplane?

Or what happens if you are travelling with a screaming toddler who simply refuses to board an airplane? Should the airline give you a free change?

You either pay more for flexible tickets, or you accept that things happen when travelling...
