Agreed, it's more about the onward journey where on return I would have to travel back into London to pick up the car and then onwards towards Bristol adding 4 hours to the journey (without considering jet lag!).
Direct train in First from Bristol to Paddington and the Heathrow express to LHR can be had for much less than the cost of 6 weeks parking, that's how I'd do it personally!
An alternative would be to do 2 x one way hires from someone like Sixt.
