I lost my UK passport around 5pm on a Friday in Warsaw. Phoned the helpline in London who arranged for the Embassy to deal with a temporary passport on Monday morning. They even had a photo booth there! Once I signed all the documents and paid the fee the document was issued that afternoon. This meant I could continue my trip to three destinations before returning to UK. Given the criticism the UK Passport authorities usually receive I was pleasantly surprised
