Really sorry to hear about it but glad she has the ETD process kicked off. Hopefully the banks have also cancelled the cards.

I had it happen recently on my trip to Morocco, I did end up missing my flight back but insurance came in hand for that. So make sure she has reported to the police if she's intending to claim of travel insurance. Once the ETD has been issued or you have had the FCO confirm it's been approved and awaiting collection, you can apply online for your replacement passport. Make sure you cancel it online the old passport as it seems even though the FCO cancel the passport, the Home Office systems look for a cancellation referance and as your not given one, it puts in a que for someone to check.
