My partner and I will be flying MUC-LAX in J on the A380 in December (inbound). Separate reservations since our outbounds are from different airport (SFO and ORD). She insisted on using her travel agent buddy who bought her ticket from United (her outbound is on UA). My ticket is from LH on an all LH itinerary.

Question 1: where should we sit on the A380? Her travel agent randomly booked her in 22K. She likes the idea of the smaller cabin but it is in the back and close to the galley. I have never flown J on the A380, so no clue what the best seats are. My instinct would be row 15 (away from galley and loos, over the wing).

Question 2: I have 2 e-Vouchers and may as well try using them (long shot). In case I get the upgrade I would only take it if we can upgrade her as well. Would it be possible, in principle, to upgrade her with LH miles or cash if her ticket is United stock (016)?

Very much looking forward to flying A380 again.
