I had no idea about this until I got a pop-up when I went to start booking a hotel for a future trip. Been using them for at least 80% of my hotel needs and always told them the reason I do it is the loyalty program. I may even cancel some future stays and book direct now. 80% devaluation is insulting. Only way they will care is if you stop using them.
