I found this quite typical of many Hiltons of late. Some of them would certainly benefit from being rebranded Doubletree.
But in general I enjoy my stays in Hiltons. Don't do enough to pull Diamond, but the staff treats me nice enough as Gold. Lounge can be nice enough to unwind after a day in the office, but not that impressive usually even if present. Much more important for me is the breakfast inclusion, especially when staying privately, but also on business trip it helps keep my F&B total down while I enjoy nicer eateries in the evening.
