I'm in the NoVA suburbs outside the beltway, about 20 minutes from IAD, and hate making the trek to DCA. Sure, love the views flying out of DCA, and the river visual approach is stunning, but it's not worth the 45 minute drive and fighting traffic inside the beltway.

For work flying, I'm required to have my vehicle at the airport (so no metro or Uber), and at IAD we park directly in front of the east side of the terminal. In the door, up the escalator, and the UA counters are right there. DCA is a massive PITA for my work flying. Really the only time I'll consider DCA over IAD is if I have to head to LGA or EWR and am not sure if I can make the return flight times work at IAD (without either missing the flight, or having to wait 3-4 hours for the next one). This is where the shuttle service from DCA (either DL or UA) comes in handy, and I've made the trek out there.

For personal travel, it's 100 percent IAD...quick 20 minute Uber ride, and nonstop service to where I'm going. So count me in camp IAD.
