The seat next to you will be blocked, although it may not take much in the way of pax load for it to be unblocked. You should also obviously get priority Group 2 boarding. I always fly ET in the exit row and have never yet felt any disadvantage over those in CE. In fact, I have often thought how much better off I am in row 12 if I have an empty seat next to me (which I have had on most trips) than the rather miserable and cramped looking mid and rear section of a largish CE cabin.
