I would LOVE to put that room back inventory for the last night of my stay. The issue is when I try to cancel and rebook, it doesn't "hold" the room so I lose it. There should be a way to rebook without losing your room. If a hotel is sold out and someone wantst o rebook, they basically risk losing their reservation? I am a new Gold but long time Bonvoy elite and I've never run into this, and always the customer support people would be able to fix it. This really leaves me scratching my head. Happy to re-deposit the points and have it be a 100% cash stay and shorter. I'm pretty flexible on how to solve the issue, just don't want to pay for a room the last night when we won't be there and certainly don't want to lose the miles part of the miles + cash booking. I'm still hopeful someone at Hilton can help me sort this.
