I'm glad another poster mentioned how annoying the Pen-Fed theme is in the tunnel from the Airtrain to Concourse C. I live in West Alexandria off of King Street right next to 395. No traffic, DCA is 10 minutes away while IAD is 30 minutes. I also have status on AA, only a lowly Gold though, and have access to the Admirals Club via my Credit Card, but I will not be making Gold again this year. I have not flown United ex-DCA, and that was to ORD, since well before the merger. I don't mind Dulles as much as others since it is a given I will be in one of the United Clubs away from the already over-crowded concourses. I will be interested to see IAD with seven banks instead of four. UA's options at DCA are very limited and not helpful to my travel patterns. On the roughly once a year occasion I am flying DL, it is from DCA, as I can use my dad's AMEX card to get into the SkyClub I did WN once ex-DCA, and never again. I am winding down WN flying given I am just sick of the regular delays I encounter and I was very lucky to have been flying them last December two days prior to their infamous meltdown. Also, it is a long slog from BWI connecting to the rail station and then the NE Regional or Acela down to Union station, then metro to the Pentagon, and finally the Dash home. I like the option of the Silver Line, even with the time it takes to get to IAD, as there is a Silver Line stop less than a 10 minute walk from my office. But for flying ex-IAD, I am only doing United, which is fine, as I really prefer United over American for various reasons, which I suspect is many who are posting here.
