If your asking me how I would handle it I would say keep it simple and leave things as they are especially if it's a work trip plus save your Avios on any considered seperate booking for something better for a future date.

I'm not sure about the duplicate bookings query, perhaps one of the more knowledgeable folks on here will know. However, Euro Traveller is perfectly comfortable for a short flight of just over 2 hours and if your Silver perhaps an exit seat is available? Another possibility is you could ask for at the airport on the day for any upgrade prices

If you stay in ET then you may also get 'lucky' with Theoretical Seating, possibly.
