From my experience with similar offers on my German Amex, a prepaid rate triggers the bonus if it is charged by the hotel. This is nearly at all hotels the case. And I would not be surprised if the hotel charges your card only when you check in. So in terms of date of charging, a prepaid stay is not necessarily charged immeadiately.
