I do have frequently back to back individual single-night bookings at the same property - mostly for being more flexible and securing a rate.
Never a big issue. Sometimes I need to contact Hilton to fix point earnings if the hotel did something wrong, but at the end it always worked.
From a points/stay/promotion point of view it counts as one single stay with x nights.
