Indeed! I had forgotten this "technicality". It is airside, but in the Shengen area therefore before passport control. At least when it was Sheltair.
If our friend makes the connection quickly, don't you think he can exit at 2 B/D (passport control) and go to the Shengen area where he can access the Extime lounge? If the layout is the same as with Sheltair, it is just above the passport control booth, so it is easy to check if there is a queue or not, so you can maximise your time in the lounge.
