There is currently a cashback offer on UK Amex cards for IHG hotels in Europe. I have used these before but only on spend billed at the hotel. The terms, as usual, say applies to checkout spend only. However does anyone have recent experience of the cashback triggering for prepaid bookings made on the IHG website in advance?

This would naturally help with ensuring I can hit the spend threshold before the offer expires.
