Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? We booked the cheapest entry level room and received a six level upgrade to a 1 King Classic Club Lounge Access Palace View. This room sold for a 60% premium over the one we booked.
How are the rooms? Lovely. We had a corner room on the 38th floor which had windows on two sides. The bathroom also had a window which in my experience is relatively rare in a hotel. Nespresso machine with branded capsules plus kettle and assorted teabags/hot choc. There was a corridor into the room where the wardrobe was located. Separate bath and shower. Large bottles of Byredo amenities.
How is the exec. lounge? Large. Substantial breakfast with a la carte options. We stayed for three nights and I chose three different egg options. Afternoon tea (3-5pm) with tiny sandwiches and cakes. Happy hour (6-8pm) with six different savoury food options each night plus fruit, dessert and cheese board. You could take all six or mix and match. Well stocked bar.
What was good and what was bad? Good - This was our third stay and we received a handwritten welcome letter with a bottle of French red, a hessian sack of local rock salt, a tray with a bowl of strawberries, dried fruit, chocolate and macaroons and four bottles of mineral water. The mineral water was replenished each day.
The spa and health centre of the 43rd floor was divine. We spent time there every day. Sometimes we were the only guests in the pool. I had a massage and my son had two massages. They were excellent value.
Bad - We were automatically awarded our Diamond welcome points and not offered the choice of breakfast or a cocktail. Perhaps the receptionist decided that with lounge breakfast and happy hour plus the vino in the room, we would find the points more useful. I’m sure I could have reversed the points and asked for a drinks voucher but we didn’t need one.
We were told the Ambassador allowance could be used for the minibar but this was empty.
On the second night I asked for G&T in the lounge and this was served without ice. They had run out. I suggested a team member could pop to the ice machine and collect some more rather than serve room temperature drinks.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? We would be happy to return. The hotel is cheap as chips, just north of £150 per night for half term week. Also Warsaw shopping is loads cheaper than London.
