Curious question probably not directly related to upgrades. 016 ticket with one leg on United and one on Swiss is upgraded using fixed cash upgrade offered by Swiss. What happens if this itinerary suffers a big schedule change/cancellation by airline. Who rebooks me/offers alternate itineraries? What happens to the paid upgrade on Swiss, will I still retain it? What if the alternate itinerary I choose is no longer on Swiss?
on any changes upgrade is gone and they would refund it if this was involuntary change. and it is always airline which canceled the segment which need to rebook but united would need to reissue the ticket.
