We are finishing a 2 night stay at the JW Marriott Jeju, opened within the last two months. It's a Bill Bensley design, though I think that the Chinese owner had a strong hand in the design. Some of his personal pieces of art are on display. I'll report on it more fully in the Marriott forum, but it truly is a luxury property. I've been blown away by how good it is, from the exquisite design of the property to attention from staff, to the quality of food. The property has some 200 rooms but gives a sense of great intimacy. It overlooks the water from the south side of the island. We see a small rocky island from our room. I haven't seen any other caucasians though obviously it has been discovered by locals. I highly endorse it. We booked a guide from Tours by Locals, our first time to use that service. It was a bit pricey but well worth it to me as we easily and comfortably saw a number of the sights on the east side of the island.
