I booked a ticket using miles that I had saved. The flight combination is the following:

Redeye flight from LAX to EWR on Alaska arriving at EWR early in the AM

long layover

Redeye flight JFK to TLV on American Airlines

The connecting flight is at JFK not EWR. I am checking in 1 piece of luggage. Am I going to have to pick up my luggage at EWR and then check it in again at JFK or will it go all the way through?

I did call up American Airlines and the agent wasn't sure saying I will find out at the airport...all he said he was confident with was that I won't have to repay American to check it in again.

I mean it's not a huge deal if I do but it's definitely an inconvenience.
