The lesson to be learnt here is to book each night individually - especially whenever your stay dates are in flux and you aren't aiming for a fifth night free reward.

No hotel is going to make you change rooms unless you book different room categories.

With "dynamic pricing" you cannot just hold room inventory and the rate that was prevalent at the time of booking.
