No a selling class (aka booking class or booking code) will have a whole bunch of possible fare basis codes you could purchase depending on advance purchase, minimum stay, seasonality, refundability, etc.
Typically the first letter of the fare basis code is the booking class. The booking class is usually a single letter (some airlines have 2-letter booking classes but I don’t believe BA does)
