I was supposed to go to KL for 6 days but realized that a ticket to Maldives from KL is fairly cheap, so I changed plans to stay at the Alila there, picked it over the PH, not sure why but reviews seemed split.
Is it worth the effort to go check out the GH KL for 1 night, it looks like the airport to GH is about 1 hour, not sure of the cost but I arrive at 4:30pm and leave the next day at 10:20am, so it looks like I won't be able to even have breakfast since hotel is 1 hour away from airport. Never been to KL before.
4:30p arrival and an hour in immigration = 5:30p + 1.5 hour cab into the city (super trafficky as you approach the central area at that time) = at best 7p arrival. Maybe catch happy hour in the lounge or walk around the mall or the Pavilion until 11pm. Wake up at 6a for a 7am taxi back to the airport...
I would stay at the airport hotel. If your flight to MLE is in the evening, then for sure I'll go into the city.
