If you don't have to stick with *A, AF/KLM often have very good deals from YVR to Europe.
Well, FRA is not MUC or ZRH, but I go through it every other week or so and wouldn't say it is as terrible as it is often reported. Don't think AMS or CDG are any better than FRA, let alone places like LHR.
