24 hours has passed but the email never came. I called again and the new agent said she could only escalate this to the "relevant department" by email. She was not authorized to issue the ticket, or link me up with the mysterious "relevant department". I don't understand why it was so difficult to rebook a ticket...
I don't remember it was this difficult before. Is this the normal after the pandemic? It felt like talking to Cebu Pacific, not Cathay Pacific.

I did this myself, changing a one-way to a full blown RTW (so a cancel and reissue akin to
The worst gone worse - MPC hotline capacity and waiting time was applicable).
I was given the US$120 payment link along with the amended RTW itinerary. I paid that while keeping the agent on the line, the agent confirmed fee paid and the link for revised YQ/taxes will be sent “this evening”.
My booking phone number was on another mobile (those following pre-pandemic will know why I do this). A bit over an hour I saw 2747 3333 ringing me back.
“Mr Smith, is it ok to send you the payment link now?”
Then the link was sent.
So if I didn’t receive the call, I wouldn’t be sent the link?
What a crock. Why not send the link, then (not absolutely necessary) call the customer to make sure s/he will look for it?
