Stayed at the Seabird for Memorial Day weekend for 20k points/night as a globalist to celebrate our anniversary (did a one night here, then alila marea, then onto la jolla). We were auto upgraded in app to ocean view king room that overlooked the pool and ocean. Overall a good experience our first time to oceanside. Lots of restaurants nearby and staff was mostly friendly.

Pros:
+ Nice upgrade (resort stated they were fully booked when inquiring about further upgrade)
+ Valet was efficient (text a number and they bring your car within 10 minutes)
+ Nice welcome amenity (chocolates for our anniversary)
+ Breakfast was completely free (they give you a placard when you check in that says max of $40/ person, but when we checked out our bill of $100 for breakfast was completely waived)
+ Able to use the rooftop bar on top of the Mission Pacific and apply charges to the room
+ Quiet gym area with refreshments
+ Staff was very personable upon asking the front desk for information, at breakfast, and even upon checkout.

Cons:
- Busy weekend with a bunch of kids screaming their heads off until pool closure and the hot tub consistently occupied (even the adults wake up very early to be the first in the hot tubs to avoid the crowds).
- Check-in was kind of abrupt where they told us our room was not ready and immediately started pouring us some champagne while we waited. More rushed of an experience than anything.
- Kind of regretted not staying at Mission Pacific as it was geared towards more of the adult scene while the Seabird being more kid friendly.
- Breakfast sucked. We spent (even though it was waived later) $100 after tip on the buffet breakfast ($42/ person) and the food was very cold, kids running around reminiscent of a holiday inn, and mostly tasteless. Not worth the money at all. I understand though that during the week breakfast is served a la carte.
- Rooftop bar at the Mission Pacific was not good at all. Food was overcooked and the service was very slow close to closing. We were practically ignored for 30 minutes. I had to end up finding a waitress to take our order.
