The IC is in a pretty good position for transport within the city.
Until the taxi rips you off that is. I have never in my life visited a place where, not once, not twice, but EVERY SINGLE TIME, I've tried to use a taxi in KL, I've had to play meter games, been quoted way out of line prices for a ride, or just been gouged and ripped off. Never again will I get into a taxi in KL. Of course, as a single traveller, I don't need to buy multiple seats on KLExpres so I can imagine that at some point, if you can get a set price at the airport for a taxi, it would be cheaper. As long as they don't try to pull any shenanigans on you.
Agree that the IC is in a great location to use the trains though and it's one of the reasons why I usually stay there instead of the Grand Hyatt (which involves a trek across KLCC), although I think I really do prefer the GH.
Also Grab is a good bet, although I've always let my friend handle that as the last time I tried to install it, it wanted a local Malaysian number to verify. Not sure if that has changed or not.
