I have mixed feelings...I consider myself the king of the CRJ and its resident punching bag. (I've logged over 700 segments on that aircraft alone before I stopped keeping track, I'm probably somewhere near 750 or so now)...The cost of this is indeed lost service, with the dozens of smaller communities like mine (but not mine) that were cut in the last 2 years...As much as I hate, loathe, detest this plane and want to cry every time I step on one, it does serve a great purpose to small communities. But taking all of these airframes out of the United Express network is a relief as well.

And I'll honestly say that it's not a 'fair trade' with SkyWest CRJs replacing Air Whisky...It's not even close how much better, in general, ZW crews are compared to OO. I've had some of my best 1K recognition on the hour-long hops to/from ORD on Air Wisconsin..Many F/As pound out a full drink service and even hand me a snack box or an extra drink, and for the rest of the passengers, at least come through with water and a snack. It seems even getting an SkyWest F/A to get out of their seats to pull their nose out of a book/phone is a chore. Apathetic doesn't begin to describe most SkyWest attendants--and even sometimes on their 175s.

But we cannot celebrate too much...The CRJ isn't quite ready to leave the United Express fleet...It lives on under the Skywest banner, and will continue to operate out of the same hubs it did prior to ZW's service ending. My airport (MBS) goes all Skywest CRJs tomorrow, but the light at the end of the tunnel is that all July, 2 of 3 daily flights (and some days, 3X) are back on the GoJet CRJ-550. So that's a HUGE win to have them back after a year+ hiatus. They haven't finalized the schedules yet beyond the end of July, so hoping more of these continue, but part of me is just thankful for any service, so I can't get too excited and I think I'm far from announcing my final CRJ flight. I hope I don't get to 800 CRJ segments lifetime, but me thinks I probably will eventually.
I can't even imagine 700 segments on the CR2. I have 72 in my records, and have hated every single one of them.
(OT - I have 345 flights on the E145, though thankfully the vast majority were Exit Row single-side seat)

Checking June, looks like DAY<-> ORD went to exclusively Skywest, with a couple flights on the crappy CR2, and the rest on E175s. Spot checking July sees even less CR2s!

Big improvement over all CR2s. Might be able to start using DAY again, instead of trekking down to CVG.
