You will need to call in. In my experience I have never been able to book AF/KLM online and I have also had similar issues with Delta first class space domestically. Never had a problem when calling in, I just feed them the flights i am looking for. The good news is I have always found the VS agents to be solid. The VS site is just very flaky.
