Though it's a flawed overly-large property, both my elderly parents and brother with young children have enjoyed the JW Hill Country in San Antonio several times for s'mores, pool time, etc. - I've stayed there once (by myself) - from a pure hotel standpoint, it's flawed, but I'm not a resort person.
