Every time I've been "protected", on AA metal, I was booked into a seat on two flights:
  • My scheduled flight, which I might not make
  • A later flight
If by some miracle my scheduled flight departs with me on it, the later flight is dropped.

For the life of me I can't find it now, but I recall someone here on FT asserting staff wasn't supposed to do this anymore...?

All the best, James
