You said it, it's a nice resort, but I wouldn't call it luxurious. And if the OP doesn't want the 'overwhelmed with families' vibe, avoid the summer months. (Full disclosure: My family adds to that vibe most years.)

I'm sure it's a perfectly cromulent convention/golf hotel in the off-season. 'Nice' but not luxurious.
