This was our first IHG stay of 2023. We are now just over 50 nights in IHG - mostly in IC's. In retrospect this was our best value quality stay.

We are Diamond Ambassador with Diamond off full 70 nights in 2022 mostly in IC's.

To your questions;

The lounge is very pleasant and a lovely calm spacious area to spend time with guests. But they will likely charge an extra fee beyond you and any single person registered to your room.

The lounge breakfast is OK for one maybe two nights. But beyond that it may feel limited and repetitive.

MYR 300 from basic room to club room was pretty adjacent to what we paid in January. No idea what the walk in upgrade price is to Club.

We will likely stay again Dec/Jan. With a lounge pass this hotel rates as a relative bargain - but .....only covers the cost of a taxi from the airport which is SO far away!

Thank you for the detailed information! Good to know that it might be a good option, I'm shocked the rail has hiked the price significantly. used to be a great option to get to town (Esp since IC is right beside the station). I guess Grab it is then.

This was on a cash stay as a diamond ambassador.
Yeah, at around that price I think it might (inflation notwithstanding) be better to just get a decent option outside the hotel, which there are quite a number of them around. I miss the dai chows and ikan bakars. Thank you for the datapoint.
